On June 17, 2025, the popular Thai talk show “โหนกระแส” (Hon Krasae) aired one of its most explosive episodes to date: “โลก 8 ใบของนายคนเดียว!!! สาวรวมตัวแฉพระเอกซีรี่ส์คบซ้อน“ — loosely translated as “One Man, Eight Worlds: Women Unite to Expose the Secret Life of a BL Actor.” The program brought together multiple women who claimed to be emotionally and sexually manipulated by Thai BL actor Shell Thakrit Chaiyut, a rising star best known for his roles in “Playboyy The Series” and the currently airing drama “RESET.”
What Is ‘Hon Krasae’?
“โหนกระแส” (Hon Krasae) is one of Thailand’s most influential and widely watched talk shows, hosted by veteran journalist หนุ่ม กรรชัย (Noom Kanchai). Known for tackling controversial and high-profile social issues, the show has become a platform where victims and whistleblowers bring untold stories to light. From political scandals to celebrity controversies, Hon Krasae has the power to shift national conversations — and even trigger legal action.
The show’s no-holds-barred format, paired with Noom’s incisive yet empathetic interviewing style, has made it a trusted space for exposing truths. When a topic reaches Hon Krasae, it’s no longer just gossip — it’s a national issue.
While early speculation swirled on social media under the cryptic tag “ดาราซีรีส์โลก 8 ใบ” (“Y-Series Actor with Eight Lives”), it was not until this televised interview that the scope, emotion, and damage of the story became fully visible to the public.
The Setup: Who Is Shell Thakrit?
Shell (real name: Thakrit Chaiyut), 23, is a former volleyball athlete turned actor, represented by Copy A Bangkok. He gained fame after winning Smart Boy 2016 and built a dedicated fanbase through both mainstream and Boys’ Love (BL) dramas. He was celebrated for his warm public persona and often appeared friendly with fans online and in person.
However, this carefully curated image is now under fire.
“It Wasn’t Just Me”: Women Speak Out
At least four women joined the Hon Krasae broadcast, each detailing similar patterns of deceit, emotional abuse, and gaslighting.
Pattern of Approach:
- Shell initiated contact through Instagram and Facebook DMs.
- He claimed exclusivity in each relationship, often asking women to keep their love a secret.
- He emotionally manipulated women by appearing vulnerable or broke, sometimes requesting monthly financial help.
“He said he had no money, so I helped him every month,” one woman stated. “He said I was his only one.”
“He told me we should keep our relationship quiet because his company didn’t allow dating.”
One woman described how Shell implied financial stress, causing her to send him funds regularly. She did this out of love, unaware he was in simultaneous relationships with others.
The Payment Details:
Monthly Sponsorship:
Quote: “I paid him monthly like I was his sponsor.”
One woman revealed she transferred over 8,000 baht per month, covering what she believed were basic expenses — rent, food, and transportation — for nearly ten months.
“He said he couldn’t survive without me. I just wanted to help.”
She estimated her total financial support exceeded 80,000 baht (over $2,200 USD).
“I didn’t think it was buying love. I thought I was helping my partner.”
Payment for Abortion:
Another woman reported paying Shell directly for abortion-related costs:
“He transferred 10,000 baht to help me pay for the abortion. But afterward, he disappeared.”
Pregnancy and Abandonment
One of the most devastating revelations came from a woman who became pregnant during her relationship with Shell.
“He didn’t use protection. He said it was safe. I was on birth control, but I still got pregnant.”
She underwent an abortion in July 2024, supported financially by a 10,000 THB bank transfer from Shell, which she presented as evidence on-air. Afterward, she continued seeing him, explaining:
“I loved him. I tried to forget everything.” “I didn’t want to hurt his future. He said he was a celebrity.”
How He Lured Women
Several women detailed how Shell initiated intimacy:
- One lived near Shell’s condo. He invited her over “just to eat.”
- Another had mutual friends and was invited to parties.
- One caller said he approached her on Facebook, using their shared university as an excuse to bond.
“He said we studied in the same place, so we should hang out.”
“At first it felt like we were just neighbors. Then suddenly we were in bed.”
Suspicion and Confrontation
Multiple women described moments of suspicion, including a particularly revealing incident where one saw Shell video calling another woman late at night. He hung up immediately and then gaslit her, claiming it was just his manager.
“He looked shocked and immediately hung up. Then he said I was being too controlling.”
Another woman shared a photo she had taken with Shell in an intimate moment to verify their relationship.
Sexual Exploitation and Ghosting
A woman revealed Shell would regularly ask for nude chats and video calls:
“He asked to see me naked. I sent the photos. After that, he stopped replying.”
“It felt like he got what he wanted, and then he vanished.”
Testimony from a Caller
A woman who called in during the show confirmed she had a similar experience and knew of others in her circle who also dated Shell. She emphasized that the behavior was systemic, not isolated.
“He talked to my friend too. Same patterns, same lies.”
Emotional Fallout
Many of the women said they blamed themselves, even apologizing or trying to win him back after fights. This was classic emotional manipulation:
“I bought him food to say sorry after we fought. He said he didn’t want to be in the relationship anymore.”
“We kept it private because he didn’t want his company to know.”
Host Garn-Chai’s Defense of the Women
At the end of the program, host Garn-Chai passionately addressed the audience, preempting criticism of the women:
“Don’t say it takes two to tango. What if it were your daughter or sister?”
“They didn’t have to come forward, but now we all know to be more careful.”
His comments served as a direct counter to victim-blaming narratives that had surfaced online.
Company Response
Copy A Bangkok released a public statement acknowledging the situation. Though they did not name Shell directly, they said they were aware of the issue and urged people not to engage in online harassment. The agency emphasized its zero-tolerance policy for harmful behavior.
Fallout and What Happens Next
The public backlash has been swift. Fans have begun deleting photos, removing hashtags, and calling for greater transparency in the entertainment industry.
Despite the overwhelming testimony, no formal legal action has been confirmed as of June 18.
